About Me

Jennifer Frank SmithI am a Licensed Professional Counselor (Georgia license #5454), with an MA in Clinical Psychology from Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. I began working in the mental health field in Charleston, SC where I worked as a neurofeedback technician in a private psychiatrist’s office. The next year, I moved back to Atlanta to begin graduate school. I provided counseling and psychoeducation to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families during my practicum training. Upon completing my graduate training, I worked at a hospital performing emergency room assessments and providing group therapy for patients on the psychiatric inpatient unit. In 2008, I completed the Metropolitan Counseling Services’ post-graduate psychotherapy residency specializing in trauma recovery, PTSD, dissociation, attachment, depression, anxiety, and couples therapy. I began private practice in December 2008.

In January of 2009, I joined the staff at Metropolitan Counseling Services (MCS) as Administrative Director. I am also an active member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and am currently the 27th Annual Conference Vice-Chair and the Atlanta Committee Chair. Although I wear several hats, I most enjoy working directly with clients and am continuously advancing my clinical skills through attending workshops, obtaining supervision and engaging in peer consultation. I welcome your call if interested in speaking with me further.
